I've thoroughly enjoyed this summer. Most summers, I feel like the boys are bored and I run out of things to do with them. Most summers have been filled with baby sitters watching them while I work and watch the beautiful summer weather from my air conditioned office.
Not this summer. This summer I had no work. This is very bad when you've just bought a new house based on two incomes, but very good when you have two young children you really want to spend all your time with. I decided to enjoy the summer and start looking for work after the kids went back in the fall.
So enjoy the summer we did. We took a few trips - Galena, IL, Holland, MI, Amboy, IL, Galena again, Kentucky, South Carolina and Florida. In between the trips, we played with friends, had a lot of cookouts, and swam...and swam...and swam (kids NEVER get tired of swimming....ever).
Now we've got two days left before they are off to another year of school. This year I'm not looking forward to the first day of school like I usually am. This year, I am sad. I don't want this time to end. I've enjoyed our lazy mornings. I've enjoyed not having a schedule. This summer, I've really enjoyed our children.

What great photos! I can't believe that summer is over already.
I guess it's time to call my Mom and tell her I need some new "back to school" clothes!
What great photos! I love the one where only the dog is looking at the camera.
Hope you and yours are well...
excellent photos. I love Galena. I really try to get there at least once a year. I'm sure you've eaten at the new fried green tomatoes?
Sounds like a great summer.
Loved the pics! What a beautiful family.... (I know I say that every time!)
Sounds like a summer dreams are made of. I am glad for you and yours.
