What weird thing makes you cry?

I love parades. I love that the town comes out in force, lined up in their lawnchairs with the kids, bags in hand, on the ready for the candy to be tossed their way. Each year I look up and down the rows of people and say, "Now this is Americana. " I love when the flag is paraded down the center of the street and the crowd stands and claps. I cry with pride at the sight of the WWII veterans, their numbers dwindling with each passing year. I feel silly and very thankful that I'm wearing sunglasses. I also cry at the opening ensemble song of a live theater show. Why? I don't know.

This has got me thinking. What is the weird thing that makes you cry?

Old Andy Griffith re-runs. Especially when they involved Opie. There is something about the sweetness that gets to me.

I cry when my pets died. Oh...I guess you're supposed to cry then. Silly me!

Sorry...I meant "cried", not "cry". I sound like a foreigner for God's sake!

Everytime I leave my parents and friends in Canada, although I know I'll return.

I cry when I am sad.

That is weird.

TBF, CS, TMS: Quit trying to sabotage my blog by leaving lame answers to my new feature, The Question of the Week. It'll never take off with answers like these. The only one that qualifies as weird is the Andy Griffith admission and my original blog. You are supposed to cry at things like losing a pet and leaving home. I want weird!!

I'm not really a crier (did I spell that right?), but at our 3rd annual Cinco de Mayo party here I started sobbing because we were playing Hawaiian music and I love Hawaii. Does that count?

Yes, finally an unusual thing that makes someone cry. Come to think of it, I used to cry watching the Aloha Dancers for the love of Hawaii as well.

That’s a great question. Let’s see.

--I got teary-eyed at my daughter’s first communion.
---I’ve been known to get misty during a particularly good fireworks display, particularly the memorial day ones.
--When my NFL Rams are winning I get a little emotional.
--When I’m in the right frame of mind, live traditional blues music will give me butterflies and make my eyes water.
--My daughter’s 8th grade graduation made me sniffle.
--I feel kinda sad (not sure if that’s the real emotion) when I see a little old lady that needs a helping hand...even if she doesn’t, I just want to help her.
--When I was in NJ I got teary when I saw the next door neighbor lady shoveling snow out of her driveway so she could go to the store. I ended up shoveling her entire driveway as well as the front and rear walkways.
--When I’m doing something, watching something, writing something, or cooking something that my mom used to love (or that we used to do together) I cry occasionally.

That’s all I can think of right now. Maybe not strange but, there ya have it. :-)

Today, June 1st, is Andy Griffith's 80th birthday. When I found out, I began to weep. Does that count?

Okay, so I cry when I watch Jungle Book when Baloo's just lying there and Mowgli weeps over him. Good enough?
