Yesterday, I wrote about my dad. Today, it is my husband, The Medium Swede's turn.
Here are some things I love about my husband and father of my boys.
In the aftermath of giving birth to our first son, I was lying in bed focusing on all I had been through. Meanwhile, TMS was also focusing, not so much on me but on the bassinet, completely in awe of his new son. He cradled him, cared for him, gently changed his first diaper, etc. He repeated over and over, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh...." He had an instant bond with his new son, which for me happened more gradually over the course of the next couple of days.
He has his priorities straight. He knows that by being home as much as possible, he will see all the milestones and changes the boys go through.
He realizes that we are constantly creating our boys' future memories of their childhood and sees to it that they be happy ones.
He shares his affection freely. He hugs the boys often and says I Love You throughout each day.
He cares less about their academics and more about how they're feeling socially.
He is teaching his boys to have great senses of humor.
He keeps his whole family laughing on a daily basis.
He had taught us all "the Zoe voice."
He often glances across the room at me with that look that says, "Aren't they cute?"
He has inherited his dad's love of fishing and the outdoors and is passing that love on to his own boys.
He never complains about spending his time with the boys like I occasionally do.
He willingly brings BOTH boys to the store with him just to give me a break. Bringing both boys to the store is no small feat.
He has taught them many bathroom-humor jokes. (This I love?)
He makes up hilarious songs about the boys (most lyrics same content as jokes.)
He is a great father who is not afraid to show his deep love for his family.
I am so thankful for my life with this man.
TMS, thank you, I love you and Happy Father's Day.

I am also forever amazed at the incredible job my husband does at being a father. In fact reading through your list made me smile at the similarities between the two men. My father was a great father, but grew up in a generation that (mostly) guarded their feelings......and refused diaper duty! :) We are so lucky, as are our children, that these men are in our life.
I'm really looking forward to this week's "Question of the Week"!
TBF, Is that all you have to say about this blog?
