Crummy Friday
MiniMe has named Good Friday, Crummy Friday. I think the Christian community should adopt this name as well. When you think about it, it was a really crummy day for Jesus, not a good one. Instead of toning down our lives today, TMS and I will be going downtown to see Rent. I didn't realize it was Good Friday when I purchased the tickets. I also didn't realize that I really don't have any desire to see Rent. I am blaming the fact that the Ticketmaster e-mail alerts entice me into buying tickets that I don't really want. When I see that seats are available in the first few rows, I can't resist. Such was the case with Rent. So, instead of mourning the death of our savior, TMS and I will be watching a bunch of dirty bohemians complain about not making it in NY (a city I despise). I'm sure I will like the show. It has got to be better than I'm imagining.

It's funny that you've chosen to go see Rent, and you refused to buy tickets to see STOMP back in the mid-nineties because they were $5.00 MORE THAN YOU WERE WILLING TO PAY!!! Stomp will be playing in Basel later this summer. If we want to go see it now, we'll end up paying three times what it would have cost ten years ago. Thanks.
I'm curious to see if you agree with Michael's review of Rent. Check out his blog at http://whatsaboytodo.blogspot.com/
BTW...it's TBF and I noticed that I'm logged in as Mrs. TBF. But...I'm too lazy to re-type this. So...I won't.
TBF, it has been 10 years. it is time to get over this and move on.
I agree with Michael that Rent the live show was not as good as Rent the movie. The live show was hard to follow even though there was a written explanation of the plot in the Playbill. I completely agree with Michael's comment of the cast shouting the songs into their mics. Being a rock opera, it is critical to understand what the characters are saying. The movie was much easier to follow and had none of the performance art that made the live version abstract.
TSK's rating
Live show: 2 bratwurst
Movie: 3.5 bratwurst
no no sweetie
