Sniff, sniff... We traded in the old trailer yesterday and, while we're eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new motorhome (Da Coach), we are sad to see the old trailer go. It looked pitiful left all alone in a cold parking lot while we drove away. On the drive down to the dealership, we talked about our sentimental attachment to this trailer, an inanimate object. It's not so much the trailer we'll miss, it's the memories that we made while traveling with it. Before long we'll be saying things like, "Remember the time in the old trailer..." "That place we went in our first trailer...", etc., etc. It's hard to believe that I think the trailer is still new(ish) yet our youngest was only 18 months old the first summer we had it. We had to allow room for the portable crib and he sat around the campfire in his stroller. Our older boy was only four which, at the time, seemed so mature. While emptying its contents, we found a very small pair of sandals. TMS held them up and said "And so it begins..." We had some great destinations and saw some great sights along the way, but most importantly, we connected as a family in a way which being at home does not allow. Traveling from place to place in our trailer is our absolute favorite thing to do and we are blessed with wonderful memories. Goodbye, old friend. sniff.

The old friend gave us some great times. However, the old friend also had some repair issues that made it ready for retirement.
I will never forget it, but it was time.
Ok...I'm leaving a comment...It was too sentimental a post for me to ruin it with a comment.
SK - I'll be in Chicago in a week. Are we getting together at some point? I thought I'd arrange it wit'chu rather than TMS - we all know how that turns out!
Yes, what dates will you be here? What would you like to do?
