For the love of a dog

As I sit here composing my very first blog, (yikes!) our beautiful, devoted dog sits loyally at my feet. Where else would she be? She is old, lumpy, gassy and arthritic yet still feels a need to follow me around like a shadow. I tell her, with no success, that there is no need to suffer through the pain of standing up when I know I'm only going a short distance and then returning to my original place. She doesn't know this, she just knows she wants to be by my side at all times. I love this dog.

I love that she is gentle with all children yet viscious when she feels our house is threatened. How is she to know that a racoon really doesn't pose any threat? I love to see her rest her chin on our boy's back while he lays on the ground. I love that she checks with me after she barks as if to say "Umm, was that okay?". She is a great family member and I treasure every moment we have with her.

I am the first to comment.
Congratulations on already nearly surpassing your husband with regard to number of words blogged.
And also, you figured out how to title your blog, unlike your husband who always titles his blog "The Medium Swede". YOU GET IT!!! Congratulations!
