The Big Day (Part I)

Well, it finally arrived, our wedding. It wasn't really "our" wedding but I was so emotionally involved and excited about it, that I feel like it was partly my wedding. As I've mentioned before, I think I am a bit OCD (just OD) and one of my obsessions is event plannning. I fixate on birthdays, communions, holidays and now, weddings. The greatest part about this was that about halfway through the engagement, my niece told me I was her "stylist". She knows not how she unleashed the wedding-planning demon inside me. From that moment on, I felt I had a say in the decision-making process. And, Lord knows I have opinions on this stuff.

She seemed to take my advice on all things but her hairstyle. She still looked beautiful as always, but it wasn't my vision for her hair. Hmph! Some client-why does she even have a stylist if she won't take the advice?

It was a beautiful day, the weather was great, the food delicious, the kids? well, they could've been a little better towards the beginning, but they had a blast and we let them. This is all of the kids in our family's first time attending a wedding so it is an event they'll remember forever. A classically-upscale, elegant-yet-fun event -- thanks to moi.

More to come...

Chad-No No! No! The comment from TMS is relating to Princess's comment directly above his on your blog. Something about inserting foot in mouth. I have a bad habit of being brutally honest and not giving the kind, appropriate answer. I seriously can't fib to people. I think they can see right through it and I have always just told the truth. TMS and I laugh (in a nervous sort of way) that I am always saying the wrong thing or that I inadvertently offend people. Typically, we discuss our night out the next morning and I beat myself up over something I've said. This has been going on for years and I think when reading the comments posted on your blog, TMS just added his comment about me saying the wrong thing.

I have never been offended by anything you or any of your friends have written. That is the problem with the written word vs. the spoken word. It is often misread. Please don't give it another thought.
