Satan's Labradeer

Dear Dog Whisperer,

We have a problem.

Her name is Scout.

This is Scout when she was nice. Before...well, you'll see.

Scout came to us in September. She was sweet, slept a lot, and cuddled like a newborn baby.

About November, I became preoccupied with the holidays. I know, I know, how many poor dog owners say, "I just don't have time for the dog." Early on, I promised not to make the mistakes we made with our first dog. I promised to take the time to train her properly. I realize I haven't kept my promise to this dog. It is my fault what she's become.

Then came the move. She was put in her crate more than I'd like to admit. See she is now a full-grown dog but still has her mischievous puppy ways. Ways like eating the branches off the trees. When she's not eating them off the tree, then she is digging the roots out of the mud to eat. Even though we purchased a purebred Labrador, I'm beginning to believe that she's part deer. Is this possible, Dog Whisperer? I mean she runs like a deer when I call her inside -- runs away from me just like a deer would.

We need your help in a bad way, Dog Whisperer. Come quick. She isn't the same dog we brought home back in September. She had become something different altogether. She is the devil.

She had better change and soon. She may just find herself on a "nice farm....."

Am I going to have to bring her to Switzerland with me? I'm sure Mrs. TBF would like that.

Remeber we went through this phase with Zoe and look how well she turned out.

She'll be staying here in the US.

Great post! Sounds like a couple dogs we have had!

Yikes,

Tough one. I have always owned golden retriever myself and as I never really had a a puppy to train, I know it's hard work. I have rescused all 3 of my dogs and although they had small quirks they have been managable. Sounds like she needs to be exercised more to get rid of all the energy she has.
